The Doroteo Arroyo & Juan Ruberte Scholarship
The Aurora Puerto Rican Cultural Council (APRCC) is thrilled to announce the opening of applications for our annual scholarship program for the academic year 2026-2027! These scholarships support individuals who demonstrate academic effort, community involvement, and financial need.
APRCC celebrates multicultural representation and encourages students from all cultural and ethnic backgrounds within our community to apply.
Scholarship Details
Award Amount: $250 – $1,000 scholarships
Eligibility:
- Minimum 2.5 GPA
- Must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a community college, university, or trade school in the United States or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico
- Must be enrolled during the 2026–2027 academic school year
- Must reside in Aurora or within 50 miles of Aurora

Applications must be postmarked by this date.
Required Application Materials
Applicants must submit:
- Completed application form
- One-page personal statement
- Official transcript
- Two letters of recommendation from teachers, counselors, employers, or volunteer supervisors

Selection Criteria
Scholarship applications will be reviewed by the APRCC Scholarship Committee. Applicants will be evaluated based on:
- Academic achievement
- Community service and involvement
- Personal statement and future goals
- Letters of recommendation
- Demonstrated financial need
Scholarship recipients will be notified following the committee review process.
